Artist's note- Forks of the Kern

"I had a wonderful day rafting on the Kern River, then dining and sleeping under the stars. Upon awakening, the morning light was so inspiring, I felt the need to get some oils on paper. There was a kayak turned over, so that I was able to set up and capture the light beginning to come through the trees, shining on the earth and over the river rocks."
